Critical role, tasked with the planning, leadership, and control of production activities for a well-established manufacturing firm. Accurately plan production schedules, workforce plans, supply chain and logistics in line with challenging targets. Ensured robust maintenance management to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) standards. Managed and motivated cross-functional teams to achieve production objectives. Collaborated with clients, stakeholders, internal teams, and senior management to facilitate seamless operations.
• Spearheaded the introduction of 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, and Lean methodologies – with success in delivering process improvement and eliminating waste.
• Delivered vast cost savings, decreasing labour costs by 30%, reducing scrap waste reducing from 4.5% to 1.5% and PPM from 1600 to 300.
• Consistently exceeded challenging sales targets, with total sales increasing by $4M and mould manufacturing revenue of $3M during tenure.

Accountable for the management of maintenance activities to support plant-wide operations for a major stationary firm. Led improvement projects from inception to completion, including process enhancement, plant refurbishment, machinery upgrade, energy conservation, OHS and factory relocation. Effectively managed the maintenance team, delivering training and support to aid skill development
• Redesigned, implemented and deployed a robust spare parts and procurement process for the 45K m² plant, inclusive of machine transportation, investment, maintenance, and spare parts, with budget equating to $2.5M.
• Won the Best 5S Award following delivery of 5S projects, with results including scrap rate decreasing from 3.5% to 1.5% and annual stock turnaround increasing from 3 to 12.
• Successfully delivered a new plant lay-out, machine transportation plan, factory relocation and energy cost saving initiative utilising Lean methodologies – equating to $1M cost savings in 2008.

Guide production operations across multiple departments, including moulding, assembly, watercolour, and eraser production. Project managed new product development activities, from initial concept and design phases, through mould and machine manufacturing, to product launch. Oversaw machinery investments, inclusive of purchasing, inspection, installation, and training. Recruited, led, and motivated large-scale production teams, with three direct reports.
• Won the 5S award for exceptional performance following implementation of 5S, Kanban, Kaizen, and Lean methodologies as well as the delivery of a business-critical outsourcing project that saved $1M.
• Drove vast improvements in profitability, with sales increasing by 80% during tenure despite zero increase in labour levels.
• Transformed the production area and maximized efficiency levels via assembly line layout upgrades to one-piece flow.

Led production, assembly, quality control, production planning, logistics and maintenance activities to support day-to-day operations for a major manufacturing firm serving the automotive industry.
