The essential element of any rotating turbo machinery is the blade which produces the required pressure ratio and finally the thrust for propelling an aircraft. The failure of single rotating/static blades can lead to a catastrophic/mission failure of the aircraft. This calls for 100% inspection of the blades, normally dimensional and profile inspection done through conventional metrology and profile projector.
