Working in a graduate developer role as part of a team of software engineers, we developed five separate, integrated REST and SOAP web services with public facing APIs for payroll software vendors to integrate into their software. These web services are to be used by every employer in the country by January 2019 in order to pay the taxes of the 2.1 million employed people of Ireland.
My role involved testing, bug fixing, and new feature development. I handled technical queries and bugs from the payroll software vendors. I was also responsible for all of our published technical documentation and schemas (revenue-ie.github.io/paye-employers-documentation/). I Developed Kibana visualisations and dashboards from the web service logs.
This role gave me exposure to Spring Boot, Kibana (the ELK stack), and Docker and experience working as a member of an agile team, working through each stage of the agile process under the pressure of a busy release schedule. This experience enhanced skills I learned in university, such as Java, Git, schema/API development, SQL, and front-end technologies (Angular).

Contributed to two separate projects in a short period of time here, one of which was a continuation of my final year project (the AVERT Project) The second piece of work was enhancing their CRM database in order for the commercial team to capture deal statuses, client communication and leads more effectively.
Developed a linked-data data model using Resource Description Framework (RDF) to store patient, geospatial, and time data, analysed with GeoSparql queries. My expertise in RDF and Ontology engineering filled a gap in the team of professors and postdocs and enabled this critical infrastructure.
The goal of this project is to uncover the unknown triggers for patients with the auto-immune disease ANCA Vasculitis. It brings together physician, patient, computer scientist and artificial intelligence expertise to create a system that learns over time about the impact of the environment on disease flare.
I developed a custom built ontology for the data model.
