I performed Quantitative RT-PCR and NAT on HIV, HBV and HCV genomes. I also executed the VERSANT HCV Genotype 2.0 (LiPA) Test for HCV genotypization. I employed Chemiluminescent techniques (Luminex) for the determination of HLA aplotypes and Flow Citofluorimetry for limphocyte immunophenotyping and leukemia diagnosis. I also managed the reception of samples, the archiving of the results and the training of other interns.

International Summer School in "Chemical and genomic-based strategies in the discovery of novel drug targets"

I served an internship at the Experimental Neurology laboratories of the University. I helped to perform experiments that required the use of IOS (Intrinsic Optical Signal) imaging technique applied on a chemical model of Cortical Spreading Depression, an alteration found in the brain of patients with aura migraine attacks. I also prepared and administred drug solutions on murine brain slices for experimental purposes. I studied pathologies like Alzheimer disease, Parkinson disease, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis and Aura migraine. I also familiarized with extracellular and intracellular electrophysiological recordings.

I carried out an internship at the Department of Health Physics. I performed ionic exchange chromatography for the purification of glucose. I also studied the application of radiolabeled mAbs for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, the labeling of 18-FDG and the functioning of the Cyclotron.
